Hands-on with Fujifilm's XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR lens

The XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR is a solid lens, and relatively compact for a 24-83mm (equivalent) F2.8 optic at its wide angle position. When zoomed in to 55mm (shown above) the lens does get longer by what looks like around 30%.

As we've come to expect from high-end Fujifilm lenses, build quality is high and the zoom and focus rings are smooth and well-damped. The lack of OIS (optical image stabilization) is a bit of a surprise, but is somewhat mitigated by the fast maximum aperture.
