The DV1 is ready for anything
GE digital cameras has just launched the DV1 pocket video camera which offers robust Full HD movie functionality in a mobile phone sized device. The DVI is waterproof down to 5 meters, shockproof to 1.5 meters and dustproof.
The DV1 makes filming easier as it is designed for single handed operation. Its 5.5 mm fixed focal length (33mm- 35mm film equivalent) lens and 5 megapixel CMOS sensor record clear, low-noise videos and stills easily. Continuous still images can be taken at a speed of 7.3 frames per second and the DV1 even allows for still images to be taken at the same time as recording a movie.
The bright 2.5" LCD screen with automatic brightness adjustment is great for viewing and reviewing movies and photos. HDMI offers Full HD output and easy connection to any compatible television. The foldout USB plug enables convenient upload and sharing of pictures and videos to any PC computer.
Maximum recording time of Full HD videos is 29 minutes per session. The internal battery will record up to 80 minutes video or approximately 280 photos. The DV1 supports SD and SDHC memory cards up to 32 GB. Audio files are recorded in the iPod-compatible AAC format.
The DV1 will be available in October in Lime green, Citrus orange and Graphite grey
