Apple launches battery case for iPhone 6 & 6s

I believe most criticism thus far is due to it's "unique" design. If it was the "same" as other typical designs, this thread would criticize apple from that point of view instead of being "unique". Can't win. lol.

Its an inanimate object which doesn't need defending. If you like the features and are ok with the price then buy it. If not buy one of the cheaper ones.

Indeed. The battery is centered in the middle to prevent shielding of the antenna, placed at the top and bottom of the phone. The bulk in the middle is inevitable if you live in a place that is already difficult to pull wifi and cellular signals. You can charge the phone and the battery pack at the same time with a single lightening cable. In the Notification Center of the phone, you can see the charge levels of both the phone and the battery pack. The pack is well made from a single piece of high quality material that is streachy to make it easy to put on and take off. It is purely silly to continue to complain that there are cheaper alternative to Apple's products. People buy Apple because we appreciate the design and quality of the product and don't mind paying more. Also as a gift, do you want your love ones to know that you buy a third party charger instead of this one to save some money?

Ironically, all Apple trolls are sheep because they use the same word like sheep.

Second rule of Steve Jobs: reality is perception.

1. Has more accurate battery level reporting than other cases.
2. Has additional antennae to improve signal strength.
3. The design lets the phone stand horizontally on a desk at a tilted angle.
4. Is uglier.

Swoopy curves do not make something ergonomic, whether that thing is a pen, a camera, or a keyboard. That Fiskars used curves ergonomically in a pair of scissors does not prove that curves are always ergonomic or that ergonomic product design must revolve around conforming to the surfaces of an imagined body shape. The last fifty years are littered with examples of this faux style of ergonomics.

I have never typed as quickly (over 100 words/minute) as I do on my Mac’s flat keyboard with short-travel keys. And you can pry my Magic Mouse from my cold, dead fingers: it finally put an end to years of repetitive strain symptoms inflicted by Microsoft, Dell, and Logitech mice, likely of the shape your IT guys smugly handed out to replace the puck mice (which I agree were dreadful).

Many Apple products are not just ergonomic but highly so. From time to time they make a dud.

But then Apple cant charge people to buy this if they did that.

They can spin it. They'll create an iPhone that's 3mm thicker and market it as the consumer getting more phone for the money.

And, yes, I understand Jobs was the rocket engine of the company that shot it up to its current position, but it is still full with very talented and inspired people and would most likely hold this position for a while.

To those people supporting Apple: share price is down, sales are down, QC issues are becoming more and more prevalent, capital tied up in unsold stock is increasing, their (ab)use of slave labour is being exposed, their dependence on dirty sources of materials is being exposed, all product ranges are outperformed by - and more expensive than - their PC / Android rivals.

Apple is on the way out and the sooner you realise that the better.

The company has over $100 Billion cash on its books, not shares or equities valued at $100B, but literally cash, and you're worrying about "capital tied up in unsold stock"

I don't think any of their ranges are outperformed, otherwise they wouldn't be outselling the competition.
But the fact that competitors have to put higher clock'd CPUs and larger batteries in their devices to match Apple's performance speaks volumes of how much more efficient Apple's devices are!

It's not me who has a problem with reality here, my friend.

Thousands of investors put real hard earned dollars behind their belief that this company is great and valued it at $720 Billion, which makes is the highest valued company ever, not only amongst tech companies, but all sectors, and then not only in the US, but the entire world.

These are not only individual investors, but also hedge funds, pension finds, banks, etc. that employ some of the biggest brains because they have extremely well paid positions. They collectively have tens of thousands of years of experience analysing companies, markets, competition, etc. and say this company is twice better than the second biggest company in the world with their money.

Then you come up, with what could only be called a stupid statement, and namely "Apple as a company is over."
Now tell me you don't have problem with reality!

Your emotional attachment to this topic is clear, and that is a strong indicator of your own bias.

I have virtually no feet in the fire here....I like some Apple products (OS X and their Macbook Pro range) and dislike some (iOS and iPhones/iPads).

I own more Wintel devices than Apple. Unlike you, I am pretty much unbiased on this topic, EXCEPT that, unlike you, I'm not blind to the appeal of Apple, or their incredible liquidity and market performance, and their very appealing design ethos.

And, IMO, their hardware is generally beautifully designed and built and reliable and good to look at.

Their appeal is related to the other things (than simple MIPS/dollar type performance metrics) - the perception (with a dose of reality) of their quality, design, look and feel, materials, ease of use..

All electronics mass produced in China and much of the far east pay what we consider slave wages; however those factories pay significantly more than other jobs and are therefore quite in demand. Now its your turn to prove how other companies, making equivalent products don't pay slave wages.

Hahahaa .. you are joking .. I use it as a normal person. I admit that I am not psycho who has deformed ear because of phone, but I take a lot of photos with it & play chess with may telephone. It is funy to loose the game against telephone. If somebody before 35 years would say to me that I'll play chess with my telephone ... I would call the medhouse to help him. Telephone GPS is great invention & it helps me a lot ...

CrApple makes a lot of money because there a lot of mindless sheep in the world.

Yep, Packing the bigger battery inside the phone would make for a much smaller overall package even with truly double the base battery life. Of course half the problem in the first place is the non-removable battery. I love my 6 year old flip phone. It runs for the better part of a week on a battery.

Errmm...sorry, this has been around for ages on android. I had a much nicer-looking battery shell on my trusty old Galaxy S2!

Samsung used to offer larger batteries for the S2 and S3 which actually just added a few mm while increasing battery time significantly! Oh, those were good times.
