Polaroid previews stackable C3 'action camera'

As well as the long-trailed Socialmatic Android camera, Polaroid was also showing off prototypes of its forthcoming C3 'action camera' at CES which is tiny, tough, stackable (you know - because...) and colorful. Although the samples we've seen are non-working we do know that the C3 will boast 5MP still resolution and HD video, and will be submersible down to 2m. The C3 is expected to cost around $99 when it becomes available later this year.

Although the C3 won't be the most impressive camera of its type in terms of specification when it becomes avaiable, it's extremely affordable and reflects a genuine demand from some consumers for cameras that can capture stills and video in situations where larger, more fragile products would be unsuitable. We're not sure why you'd want to stack multiple C3s, but we can see situations where the ability to attach several of them to (say) a bike or surfboard and capture different angles at the same time would be useful - or at the very least, fun.
