RED has launched its new RED RAVEN camera. The model offers 4K recording at 120fps and 2K recording at 240fps using an 8.8 megapixel RED DRAGON image sensor. The new model is one of RED's smallest and lightest cameras at 3.5lbs, making it suitable for handheld and drone use.

RED teased RAVEN in recent days, and has shown it off in a brief video as part of its full unveiling today. The camera can record footage in both Apple ProRes and REDCODE RAW simultaneously, offers a 16.5 stops dynamic range, and dual channel stereo microphones. Other features include an integrated Canon EF mount and a media bay that supports RED's MINI-MAG SSDs. A 120GB MINI-Mag can store 16 minutes of 4K/120fps 14:1 REDCODE footage.

The camera will ship in February 2016. Ahead of that, customers can reserve RAVEN in one of three packages via a deposit. The RED RAVEN Brain costs $5,950 USD and requires a $500 deposit. Also available is the RED RAVEN Jetpack Package for drone and gimbal uses, and the Base I/O Package for “run-and-gun applications," both of which require a $1,000 deposit.
