DxO launches upgrade for Optics Pro, now supports Nokia Lumia 1020
DxO has launched an upgrade of its Optics Pro Raw conversion software. Version 9.1.5 now offers support for the Nokia Lumia 1020's DNG Raw files. The Canon EOS 1200D (EOS Rebel T5), Olympus E-M10 and Stylus 1, and the Nikon Coolpix P340 have also been added to the list of supported cameras. An upgraded version (2.1.5) is also available for ViewPoint, DxO's software and plugin for geometric corrections.
We had a look at the Nokia's Raw capturing capabilities, using Adobe ACR, when the feature was added via a firmware update. With Optics Pro you can now apply tailored modifications based on DxO's profile of the Lumia 1020's camera and lens. For example, the DxO Smart Lighting tool allows for the recovery of clipped shadows and highlights and DxO's PRIME technology eliminates noise and restores fine detail in images taken at high sensitivities.
The new version also comes with 472 new camera and lens combinations in its library that allow for the automatic correction of distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations and lens softness. Both DxO Optics Pro v9.1.5 and DxO ViewPoint v2.1.5 are now available in the DxO Labs online store and at photo resellers. You can also download fully-functional trial versions, which will work for one month, from the DxO Labs website.
