The addition of Wi-Fi also suits the GR's character well. As a lightweight camera that's genuinely pocketable it offers some of the best image quality of any pocket camera: if 28mm equivalent is your thing, then it makes a great street or travel camera. Travel shooters in particular are likely to enjoy the ability to quickly post their images to social networks, without having to get back to a computer.

If 28mm isn't your thing, the GR II adds a 47mm equivalent crop to the 35mm equiv mode offered by its predecessor. The downside is that, from a 16MP sensor, this ends up giving 5.7MP images. If you want wider, of course, the GR II is still compatible with existing GR accessories, such as the GW-3 21mm-equivalent wide-angle adapter.
