DxO Labs cuts prices, introduces OpticsPro 10 with atmospheric haze correction

DxO has taken the wraps off OpticsPro 10, the latest software version that brings with it, among other things, DxO ClearView for correcting atmospheric haze. DxO has released updates for its FilmPack film emulation and ViewPoint perspective correction software, enabling them to be fully integrated with Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. DxO Optics Pro v9.5.1 released with support for five new cameras

Software maker DxO Labs has announced the release of DxO Optics Pro 9.5.1 for Mac, which includes support for five additional cameras. Now supported by DxO Optics Pro (Elite Edition only) are the Sony A7S, as well as (both Standard and Elite Editions) Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III and SLT-A77 II, the Nikon 1 J4, and the Samsung NX30. Read more

DxO Optics Pro 9.5 now integrates with Adobe Lightroom

DxO Labs has released version 9.5 of its DxO Optics Pro software. This new release adds a non-destructive workflow that is completely integrated within Lightroom. It allows users to transfer Raw images from Lightroom cataloguer to DxO Optics Pro, process them, and then return them to Lightroom in Adobe's open DNG format. Learn more

DxO Optics Pro 9.1.4 supports Nikon D4s and four other cameras

DxO Labs has released version 9.1.4 of its DxO Optics Pro software. Both the Elite and Standard versions gain support for the Sony A5000, Leica X Vario and GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition. The Elite version also gives support for the Nikon D4s. The update also adds 170 lens and cameras combinations to its library, with a list of over 18,000 combinations now available. DxO releases FilmPack 4.5

DxO has announced an update to its FilmPack 4 software, with version 4.5 adding two new 'film renderings' - Agfa Scala 200x and Kodak Ektar 100. FilmPack aims to simulate the look of classic film emulsions and can operate either as a standalone program or as a plugin for Adobe, Apple and DxO software. Click through for more details.

DxO releases Optics Pro 9.1

DxO has announced updates to its recently-announced Optics Pro 9 software, bringing speed enhancements and additional camera support. Optics Pro 9 is the latest version of DxO's long-running Optics Pro Raw conversion and optical correction software. DxO Labs has released Optics Pro 9.0, a major update to its RAW conversion and image correction software. It offers improved highlight recovery, adds creative visual presets known as 'Atmospheres', and includes all-new 'PRIME' noise reduction technology that claims to offer significant image quality gains at high ISOs. DxO Labs releases ViewPoint 2, with added lens corrections

DxO Labs has released version 2 of its distortion-correction software Viewpoint. Designed to correct for perspective distortions such as converging verticals, Viewpoint can now also use DxO Optics Modules to correct for the lens's barrel or pincushion distortion. It can work both as standalone software and as a plug-in, which is now compatible with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Apple Aperture (as well as Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5). DxO Optics Pro 8.3 with Samsung NX, Go Pro, and smartphone support

DxO Labs has released version 8.3 of its Optics Pro RAW conversion and image correction software, adding support for the Samsung NX system, GoPro cameras, and the most popular smartphones. The Samsung models added are the NX10, NX11, NX20, NX100, NX200, NX210, and NX300, along with the EX-1 and EX-2 compacts. The GoPro HERO3 line (Black, Silver, and White editions), and the HD HERO2 are also now covered, along with the iPhone 4, 4S and 5, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 smartphones. DxO Viewpoint 1.2.1 now compatible with Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5

DxO Labs has updated its distortion-correction software Viewpoint to version 1.2.1, meaning it's now compatible with Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5. Viewpoint works both as standalone software and as a plug-in, and is designed to correct for perspective distortions such as converging verticals, and to restore more natural proportions to objects at the edge of the frame when shooting with wideangle lenses. The company has also announced that all of its software is on sale at reduced prices until 31st July. Lens reviews update: DxOMark data for Sony NEX primes

DxOMark has been busy testing lenses for the Sony NEX system, and has just published an article detailing which lenses score best on the NEX-7. As part of our ongoing collaboration, we've added the test data for most of Sony's own E-mount primes to our lens widget, which you can use to assess their performance and compare them against each other. We'll be adding Sony's zoom lenses and third-party primes very soon, but for now you can explore the test data for the Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm F1.8 ZA, E 20mm F2.8, E 30mm F3.5 Macro, E 35mm F1.8 OSS and E 50mm F1.8 OSS. Lens reviews update: DxOMark data for Nikon-fit full frame wideangles

DxOMark has just reviewed Nikon's latest budget full frame wideangle lens, the AF-S Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED. DxO releases FilmPack 4, with 65 new creative effects

DxO Labs has announced availability of FilmPack 4, the fourth version of its film-simulation software. FilmPack 4 adds 65 'even more aesthetically-pleasing renderings'. Available in two editions, Essential and Expert, a single DxO FilmPack 4 license can be used as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Apple Aperture, and DxO Optics Pro, and as a standalone application for Mac and Windows. DxO Optics Pro 8.1.6 supports Nikon Coolpix A, Pentax MX-1 and Leica M

DxO Labs has released version 8.1.6 of its DxO Optics Pro software. Both the Elite and Standard versions gain support for the Canon EOS 700D / Rebel T5i, Nikon Coolpix A and Coolpix P330, Pentax MX-1, and Sony NEX-3N. The Elite version also gains support for the Leica M. The update also adds 267 lens and cameras combinations to its library, with a list of over 12,000 combinations now available. DxO Labs FilmPack 3.2.3 now compatible with Photoshop Elements 11

DxO Labs has updated its FilmPack film simulation software to v3.2.3, adding Windows 8 support and Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 compatibility. Both Mac and PC versions are available, with a free 30-day trail downloadable from the company's website. The company has also announced v1.1.1 of its ViewPoint distortion correction software that fixes minor bugs.

DxO Optics Pro 8.1.2 adds Sony DSC-RX1, Canon EOS 6D and Nikon 1 V2

DxO Labs has released the latest version of its DxO Optics Pro software, with more than 10,000 camera and lens correction combinations now supported. The latest version, v8.1.2 or the more expensive Elite edition adds support for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 full-frame, fixed-lens camera as well as Canon's EOS 6D. Meanwhile both the Elite and Standard versions gain support for the Nikon 1 V2. With this release DxO has achieved its stated target of offering 10,000 optics modules. Both editions are available with a 33% discount until the end of January 2013.

DxO Labs has announced version 1.1 of its ViewPoint distortion correction software, promising more accurate tools and faster operation. Viewpoint is designed to correct keystone distortions (converging verticals and horizontals), and restore more natural proportions to objects towards the edge of the frame when using wide-angle lenses. It is available either as a stand-alone tool or as a plugin for Adobe PhotoShop (CS3 or newer) or Lightroom (version 3 or newer), and for both Mac and PC.

DxO Optics Pro 8.1 offers Sony NEX-6 and Olympus PEN support

DxO Labs has updated its Optics Pro Raw conversion software to version 8.1, adding support for five cameras: the Sony NEX-6, Olympus PEN E-PL5 and E-PM2, and Canon Powershot G15 and S110. An enhanced print module now offers colour management and sharpness adjustment for printing, and there's also an option to output JPEG or TIFF files with EXIF data removed. The software is available immediately from the DxO Labs online store, with a special end of year price through to December 25th 2012.

DxO Labs has updated its DxO Optics Pro software to version 8.0.1 with the addition of support for the Nikon 1 J2 and Sony NEX-5R mirrorless cameras. The latest update also includes over 200 additional camera/lens correction modules. The update is free for Optics Pro 8 users and is available immediately.

DxO Labs unveils Optics Pro 8 with Smart Lighting

DxO Labs has announced DxO Optics Pro 8, a major update of its image processing tool incorporating 'DxO Smart Lighting.' The company's Smart Lighting tool influences both image brightness and contrast using a single slider and will attempt to recover both highlight and shadow detail. Meanwhile a selective tone tool makes it easy to apply different changes to the highlight, mid-tone and shadow regions of an image.The software also allows the configuration of multiple output options. It also gains more lens/body optical correction profiles, with DxO aiming to double the current 10,000 combinations by the end of 2013. The software comes with the customary introductory pricing valid until November 15th.

DxO Optics Pro 7.5.5 Elite adds Canon EOS-1D X and Nikon D600

DxO Labs has announced Optics Pro v7.5.5, with support for the Canon EOS-1D X and the Nikon D600. The latest version of the company's raw processing and optical correction software also adds support for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 and DMC-LX7. Support for the two full-frame DSLRs comes only in the 'Elite' edition of the software, while the Panasonic support is also included in the standard edition, that costs around half as much. As usual, the upgrade is free to existing Optics Pro 7 users and recent purchasers of Pro 6.

DxO launches DxOMark Mobile - device IQ analysis as used on Connect

DxO Labs has announced 'DxOMark Mobile' - its assessment of mobile phone image quality that will support mobile device reviews on connect.dpreview.com. In its first group of tests, DxO has found that the best contemporary mobile devices (in this case the Nokia 808 PureView, with its large sensor) will out-perform a 5-year-old high-end compact camera. And when it comes to video, the Samsung Galaxy SIII will trump last year's Canon PowerShot S100. DxOMark Mobile will analyze 14 aspects of mobile imaging and produce a final score that will be comparable to existing DxOMark figures. We'll be reporting DxOMark Mobile figures alongside our overall scores in connect reviews.

DxO Labs announces its ViewPoint for distortion correction

DxO Labs has created DxO ViewPoint - a piece of software to remove geometric distortion from images. As the name implies, ViewPoint is designed to remove the distortion introduced by the position of the shooter, whether that be the distorting effect seen at the edge of wide-angle images shot close-up, or the correction of converging verticals caused by perspective.ViewPoint is available either as a stand-alone tool or as a plugin for Adobe PhotoShop (CS3 or newer) or Lightroom (version 3 or newer). It is available for both Mac and PC.

DxO Optics Pro 7.5.4 adds Sony RX100 and Pentax K-30 support

DxO Labs has updated its DxO Optics Pro software to version 7.5.4. The latest version adds Raw support for the Sony DSC-RX100 and the Pentax K-30. In addition, the company has added 400 lens-optimizing Optics Modules for a variety of cameras and lenses, taking the total to over 8000. The upgrade is free to existing Optics Pro 7 users and those who bought Pro 6 after September 1st 2011. A trial version is available from the DxO Labs website.

DxO Labs has released DxO Optics Pro v7.5.2, with this latest update adding support for the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and Panasonic DMC-GF5. The addition means the software can now process files from all Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds cameras. In addition, v7.5.2 brings support for Panasonic's CMOS-based DMC-FZ150 superzoom. DxO Labs has released DxO Optics Pro v7.5.1, adding support for four extra cameras to both the Elite and Standard editions of the software. The Elite edition also gains support for the Nikon D800E, with fine-tuning to optimize the performance of the Remove color moiré tool. Both versions can now also process files from the Nikon D3200, Sony SLT A35 and A57, and the Panasonic DMC-GX1. DxO Optics Pro 7.5 moves to 64-bit and gains D800 support and discount offer

DxO Labs has updated DxO Optics Pro to v7.5, which now runs natively as a 64-bit application for both Mac and Windows. The latest version can handle larger images than previous versions - the 200 megapixel limit means the addition of D800 support prove no challenge. 60 of the extra 200 lens/camera profiles are for the Nikon. The latest version is available for free to existing DxO Optics Pro v7 users, with a 33% discount available for new customers until June 30th.

DxO Labs has updated DxO Optics Pro to v7.2.3, adding support for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Pentax's K-01. DxO Labs has launched DxO Optics Pro v7.2.2, adding support for the Nikon D4, Olympus XZ-1 and PEN E-P1. The additions, which include a selection of camera/lens pairings for the PEN and D4, take the number of optical correction modules in DxO Optics Pro to more than 6000, with 500 added since February 2012. The D4 is only available to users of the Elite edition of Optics Pro. As usual, a 30-day free trial of the software is available.

DxO Labs has updated its FilmPack film simulation software to v3.2, adding 64 bit support and plugin versions for Lightroom, Photoshop and Aperture. The move of both the Essentials and Expert versions to 64 bit means they are almost twice as fast at processing as v3.1. There are improvements to the user interface to make it easier to preview the grain effects offered by the different film effects. Both Mac and PC versions are available, with a free 30-day trail downloadable from the company's website.

DxO Optics Pro v7.2 extends Panasonic G-series support and adds Canon S100

DxO Labs has added the Canon S100 and Panasonics' GF3, G2 and G1 to the list of cameras supported by its DxO Optics Pro software. The cameras are added to both the Standard and Elite versions of the Optics Pro v7.2, that the company says are more stable than before. Version 7.2 also gains the ability to import Optics Pro v6 databases containing the image processing settings for existing images.

DxO Labs has launched DxO Optics Pro v7.1 for both Mac and Windows. The latest version of its Raw converter and lens correction software adds support for an additional five cameras: the Sony A65, Panasonic DMC-G3 and the three latest Olympus PENs. The additional support for these cameras, with several lens combinations means Optics Pro is able to support more than 5,000 camera/lens combinations. As a special offer, both the Standard and Elite versions will be available at around a 30% discount until December 24th.

DxO Labs announces Optics Pro 7 with faster performance

DxO Labs has announced that Optics Pro 7, the latest version of its Raw processing and optical correction software, will be available from November 30th. The company says version 7 has been extensively re-written to make it faster - up to four times faster in the case of batch processing. Version 7 also includes support for popular enthusiast cameras, such as Fujifilm's X100 and Sony's A77, as well as more than 300 additional camera/lens Optics Modules. Refinements include an improved lens softness tool that attempts to correct for inherent lens softness without interfering with bokeh in out-of-focus regions. DxO Optics Pro 7 will be available with a 33% discount until December 24th (and free to users who bought version 6 after September 1st).

DxO Labs announces FilmPack 3.1 film simulation software

DxO Labs has announced FilmPack v3.1 Essentials and Expert, the latest versions of its film simulation software. The biggests changes are to the more expensive, Expert edition with the addition of 25 'Creative Renderings' that offer stylized effects rather than just simulating film. These preset renderings can be user-adjusted, exported and imported so that they can be shared, or packages of presets from DxO added. The interface has also been improved in both versions, including the addition of a full screen view and a resizable filmstrip view, as well as a handful of minor updates.
