Lytro adds 3D viewing capability to its photos

Lytro, the tiny camera that allows you to choose your focus point after your image has been shot, has announced a software update to its desktop and iOS app that allows photos taken with the device to be displayed in 3D. The update lets users show off Perspective Shift processed images in 3D when connected to a 3D-capable TV over HDMI or Apple AirPlay.

Play it again: NFL fans get 360-degree instant replay

The instant replay isn't new. In fact, it can be argued that it's the very reason why watching Football is America's favorite Sunday night living room pastime. The implementation of 12 cameras in each end zone brings something new to your big screen TV this NFL season - a 360-degree instant replay. Starting with the September 8th Dallas Cowboys home game, fans watching the action on NBC’s Sunday Night Football will see an all-around view of controversial plays in each end zone.

French student creates SLR using 3D printer

We normally don't cover film cameras on DPReview, but this one's too cool to pass up. Twenty-four year old Léo Marius has created a 35mm film SLR using a 3D printer, complete with a viewfinder and compatibility for any lens mount (once the appropriate mount is created and attached, of course). The camera isn't available for sale, but Marius provides instructions for creating your own.
