Once again it's hobson's choice; the SP-550UZ does a pretty good job of retaining high contrast detail (such as the playing card), but completely loses low contrast detail (check out the watch face), whereas the Sony output just looks indistinct all over. As mentioned earlier we're not suggesting that ISO 800 has no uses; for social 'snaps' in poor light when you don't want to - or can't - use flash (or when you really need to extend your flash range), but the lack of detail and obvious NR artefacts are going to seriously limit its usefulness for anything important.
