Let's start by comparing the A380 to its predecessor, the A350. At ISO 100 the two camera generations produce a virtually identical amount of image detail. The small variations between these two images are largely due to a slightly different tone curve. This is pretty much the result we would have expected at base sensitivity as Sony told us the A380 is using the same sensor as its predecessor albeit with modified JPEG processing.
