Ricoh GXR/S10 24-72mm vs. Canon G11
Ricoh GXR/S10 24-72mm
3.6 MB JPEG (3648 x 2736)
3.5 MB JPEG (3648 x 2736)
Like the A12 50mm output the S10 files do not respond well to our standard RAW workflow. There is not any noticeable improvement in detail or sharpness. You can simply add more sharpening to the image during the RAW conversion which will bring out a small amount of additional detail but you pretty quickly end up with an oversharpened image that is full of artifacts and sharpened noise.
The Canon G11 on the other hand gains a marginal amount of extra detail even in low contrast areas and generally generates a much crisper and sharper RAW image than the Ricoh.
