This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F). Camera settings as per previous pages.

The Panasonic GF1 gains clarity and detail in the RAW conversion while the Ricoh GXR/A12 50mm does the opposite. The difference is clearly visible in both high-contrast areas (such as the coin, crop 1) and low-contrast areas (contents of the 'shadow box', crop 6). The GXR can be pulled to a similar level simply by applying more sharpening. Have a look at the RAW section of this review to see the results of Adobe ACR, Irodio and Capture One at default settings.
