OpinionI've had my G3 for 3 months now . Could not have made a better choice. Best features1. High image quality, very smooth pictures, produce outstanding prints, have done 8 x 10 so far on 3-year-old HP 932C, premium Photo Paper, they have a feel and look of lab prints. 2. Good ergonomics, except for Menu button 3. Flexible LCD screen useful beyond explanation. I thought that I would use a viewfinder only, but now almost never use it 4. Easily customizable with accessories, I added 420Ex flash, Lensmate and Telephoto 5. Batery lasts forever, for most aplications one battery is enough. I bought a spare but could easily do without it. Previous poster does not know what he is talking about. He sums it up best when he says it is a camera for beginners. That is why he bought it in the first place. Shots against the sun are never easy, and he uses it as one and only picture quality criteria to judge the camera. His gallery proves the point - the beginner all the way. Nothing wrong with being a beginner, but too early to start discounting good cameras and pretending to be an expert. | ||||
ProblemsThings that I would change on the next canon:1. Lens protection - definitely a threaded lens barrel so that a protective UV filter could be attached. Otherwise a lens adapter plus a UV filter is a good alternative 2. Location of Menu button- I hit it accidentally often Some free play at the last lens element - not a problem, floating lens design discussed in forums and not affecting picture quality. Above problems are minor, I would buy this camera again without hesitation. |
