On the right side of the camera (from the back) are two rubber covers over the DC-IN and combined USB & A/V connector. It's a shame that Pentax couldn't provide a flush fitting compartment door instead of these rubber covers. The USB & A/V connector can be used for either function depending on the cable used.

We have already discussed the internal capability of the lens (in the introduction to this review), it provides a focal length range of 35 to 105 mm with a maximum aperture of F2.6 at wide angle and F4.8 at telephoto. The other noteworthy detail is the speed at which the lens extends and retracts, it takes approximately one second for either.

The unique Pentax lens system turned enough heads for Casio to also use it in their new EXILIM EX-Z3.

On the base of the camera is a plastic tripod mount which is located almost exactly in the center of the base. As you can see in this image there was almost no space for the battery clip which can be seen through a hole cut in the compartment door.

In the top right corner of the front of the camera is the flash unit, it has a quoted range (ISO 200) of 0.2 - 3.5 m (7.8 in - 11.5 ft) at wide angle and 0.1 - 2.0 m (3.9 in - 6.6 ft) at telephoto.
