Camera menus

The Optio S menu system is divided into three tabbed sections. The record mode menu contains camera settings related to shooting, the playback menu has play functions and finally there is the set-up menu. Each menu is detailed below.


Record Mode Menu

The record mode menu has several options split over three pages. Navigate the menu by using the up and down arrows on the 4-way controller, press left or right to change options. Some menu options have sub menus, press right arrow to enter the sub-menu. Press OK to exit the menu and save changes or MENU to exit the menu and lose changes.

Enters a sub-menu to select white balance, shows a reduced live view so that you can see the effect of selecting different white balance. Also used to set manual white balance.

Turns normal movie clip recording mode into a 'movie time lapse' feature. You can slow the recording of movie frames by the selected factor. For instance selecting 'x10' would record at 1.2 fps instead of the standard 12 fps. Playback of such movies is at the full 12 fps rate.

Enters a sub-menu which allows you to select which camera settings will be memorized after power off.
Sharpness -2 to +2  
Saturation -2 to +2  
Contrast -2 to +2  
EV Compensation +/-2.0 EV in 0.3 EV steps  


Playback Menu

The playback menu has five options (shown left), as with other menus navigate using the up and down arrows and select an option by pressing the right arrow.

Copy Image & Sound Sub-menu

Enters a sub-menu with two options to copy all images and sound either to or from the internal flash memory.
Resize Select screen
 • 1600 x 1200

 • Quality (1-3)
Select the image you want to resize and then press OK, select the image size / quality and then choose to overwrite the original image or create a new image.
Trimming Select screen Select the image you want to trim and then press OK, move the cropping box around the image and then press OK, trimming always creates a new image.
Alarm Sub-menu
 • Alarm 1 > Set
 • Alarm 2 > Set
 • Alarm 3 > Set
Enter a sub-menu to create up to three alarms which can even be programmed to display a particular image along with the alarm.
Slideshow 3 - 30 seconds Starts a slideshow with the selected delay between each image.


Setup Menu

The setup menu is split over three pages. Navigate the menu by using the up and down arrows on the 4-way controller, press left or right to change options. Some menu options have sub menus, press right arrow to enter the sub-menu. Press OK to exit the menu and save changes or MENU to exit the menu and lose changes.
