Set-up Menu

Custom Image sub-menu

The Custom Image menu, reached via the control panel, allows control over the image parameters. Pressing the exposure compensation button takes an image to preview the settings. Rolling the rear dial switches between standard and fine sharpening. Parameters can be selected and changed using the multi controller.

Saturation/ Filter effect	• 9 steps (Color modes) • Filter effect (Monochrome) None Green Yellow Orange Red Magenta Blue Cyan Infrared color	Adjusts saturation in color modes. In monochrome mode, the camera varies the amount of information taken from the sensor's Red, Green and Blue channels in order to mimics the effect of placing different colored filters in front of the lens.
Hue/Toning	• 9 steps	In color modes, 'Hue' shifts the hue in color modes. Toning 'warms' or 'cools' the tint applied to mono images
High/Low Key Adj.	• 9 steps
Contrast	• 9 steps	All modes
Sharpness/Fine Sharpness	• 9 steps	Rear dial switches to fine sharpening mode for representing fine detail.

Image Adjust menu

The Image Adjust menu on the K-x works in the same way as on the K-7. Pressing the down arrow while in playback mode jumps to this menu.

The Custom Image and White Balance options give access to the Custom Image and White Balance screens with the same options as they appear in the camera's recording mode. Selecting Custom White Balance from within the White Balance screen allows a neutral area of the image to be selected and used to define a custom WB.

Image Comparison		Enters image comparison mode. Rear dial zooms, four-way controler pans, front dial scrolls through images. OK button toggles which image (or both) is affected.

Digital Filter menu

The digital filter menu, accessed from within the Image Adjust menu acts as home to most of the camera's JPEG processing tools and effects.
