With nominal resolutions of 14.6 and 15.1 megapixels respectively the Pentax K-7 and Canon EOS 50D are both located towards the top end of the pixel-count scale in the APS-C world. The Pentax produces a touch better pixel-level sharpness which results in a small amount of extra detail. Having said that the differences would only be visible at very large output sizes. Tone curves are again not too dissimilar but at default settings the Canon produces more muted colors. |
