Nikon D300 (RAW)
4.0MB JPEG (4672 x 3104)
3.7 MB JPEG (4288 x 2848)
Using to our benchmark RAW converter, Adobe Camera RAW tries to equalize image processing between the two cameras and allows us to get a better idea of the level of detail actually captured. As you can see both cameras images look crisper and exhibit better detail but the D300 gains more in relative terms and shows impressive detail. Despite its lower nominal resolution it overtakes the K-7 not only in terms of pixel-level but also overall detail.
