Although the Nikon results are - typically - much softer and less 'processed' and they look a little noisier, there isn't a huge amount of difference in the actual amount of detail captured, or in the response to color. There's no doubt that the Optio A10 is producing far more consumer-friendly (and print-ready) 'out of the box' results, and that the corner-to-corner sharpness is better.
