This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F).

While the Canon JPEG images are clearly better than their Pentax counterparts, when shooting in RAW there is hardly any difference. Thanks to its slightly higher sensor resolution the EOS 450D still delivers a tiny extra amount of detail. On the edges of the frame the K200D is also being let down a little by the Pentax lens.
