Rear of camera controls

The rear of the 750Z features the flip-out and twist LCD monitor, to the right of this the controls mostly relate to the monitor display (Play, Function, Menu, Display). Along the top are three buttons for changing flash, drive and focus modes and the zoom controller (which also provides access to thumbnail index / magnify in play mode).

Fn

Function menu

Displays the customizable four-option Function menu. Each option on the Function menu is mapped to one of the 4-way controller directions (up, down, left or right). This allows you to customize your camera for quick access to often changed settings. Custom options can be found later in this review.

MENU

Menu

Enters or leaves the camera menu. The menu system on the 750Z is common between modes (scene / movie / shooting / play) although the initial page displayed will depend on camera mode.

4-way controller arrows

In Av, Tv or M modes the arrows are used to adjust aperture or shutter speed. In P, Scene, PICT etc. they have no function (other than in menus).
OK Display / OK

In record mode the OK button is used to shift through each of the three display overlay modes. Uniquely the 750Z allows the user to customize two of these display modes (via the camera menu) to contain whatever information they deem useful. Also used in menus or prompts for confirmation.

Buttons (Play mode)

Protect

Displays a Protect / Unprotect pop-up menu (which seems like the long way around), press again to display a 'Protect All' pop-up menu.
DPOF Print mark

Displays the DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) option for the current image, select the number of copies you want and if you want the date overlaid. Press the DPOF button twice to set DPOF options for all images. DPOF works by writing a small 'print order' file onto the flash card which compatible printers and photo finishing kiosks recognize.
Delete

Pressing the erase button displays an Delete / Cancel option, press Erase twice to have the option to erase all images on the card. If the image has an attached sound annotation you can choose to remove that from the image ('Sound Delete').
Thumbnail index (nine image display)

Press this button to switch to a 3x3 thumbnail index, navigate through the images using the 4-way controller and press OK (or magnify) to return to a single image view. Press twice for a folder view which allows you to select a different folder on the SD card.
Magnify

Magnifies the current image up to 10x, once magnified you can pan around the image using the 4-way controller. Press OK to return to a single image view. Via a menu option you can configure the initial magnification level to be 1x, 2x, 4x or 10x, which can be useful for checking focus / sharpness.
