Conclusion

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH7 is an inexpensive compact camera that boasts some fun and useful features, and is exceptionally easy to use. It isn't the highest-specified compact on the market by any means, and can't match more expensive models for critical image quality, but it delivers good results reliably and quickly, and overall it is a pleasure to use. Video image quality from the FH7 is acceptable, without being outstanding. Realistically, if clips from this camera are used at all, it is likely that they will be shared on YouTube, Facebook or similar sites and video files are easily good enough for such relatively uncritical use.

We love its (mostly) fast operation and super-slim profile, and although its touchscreen isn't the most responsive we've ever used, it is perfectly functional. Considering that the FH7 is currently available for well under $200, you have to say it's a real bargain. If you're on the lookout for an inexpensive point-and-shoot and you don't need to make large prints, you could certainly do much worse.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH7 is a well-made, easy to use camera which is capable of delivering great pictures with a minimum of fuss. Image quality is very good in optimal conditions, but even when the light gets low, the FH7 can deliver acceptable results.
