| The E-P3's menus have been given a much-needed cosmetic makeover, and now look much prettier on the OLED screen. In structure they're almost identical to the E-PL2's, but in true Olympus fashion they've been made even more complicated than ever before. Luckily, pressing the 'Info' button now displays a little snippet of explanatory text that gives you a fighting chance of working out what each function does... |
The redesign of the menus also helps you to keep track of exactly whereabouts you are a little more easily. When you enter a top-level menu and select an item, it's highlighted and the background image goes slightly bokeh. |

| Some menu items have a separate option selection screen, which now looks like this... | ...and others get drop-down sub-menus, when the available options can easily be displayed on the same screen. |

Select the color / tone response from five pre-programmed settings. Each can then be further tuned by setting contrast / sharpness / saturation (in 5 steps), and gradation. Monotone mode also has options to simulate the effect of four colored filters and the ability to add four tints to the final image. Art Filters are now available from the Picture Mode menu and can therefore be applied in all exposure modes. Many have a number of variants (or types), which can also be combined with a range of 'Effects' including frames and starburst. |
