Compared to... Canon PowerShot G7

At ISO 400 the main difference is, again, down to the in-camera processing. The Coolpix image looks a little under-saturated (though you may of course think the Canon looks over saturated), and the default contrast / sharpness are a little lower. Though both cameras are suffering from the effects of noise, the G7 goes a better job of hiding it without sacrificing high contrast detail. Inevitably this means that the G7's noise reduction is a little more obvious when viewed this close (and that low contrast detail is going to be lost), and ultimately the differences here are down to personal taste.
