Menus

	The menu system of the D3S is extremely similar to the D3 and D3X, and the only obvious difference is the addition of some new video-specific settings. The organization of the lengthy menu system is fundamentally unchanged, and the D3S has the same 'my menu' tab into which often-used settings can be corralled for convenience.

Shooting / CSM menu banks

When working in the Shooting or CSM menus you are in actual fact changing the settings of a 'menu bank'. There are four banks for each of the Shooting and Custom function menus; A to D, each bank can be given a more meaningful label and the currently selected bank letter is indicated on the top control panel for quick reference. This is very useful for quickly switching between a type of shot or situation.

Help pages

The D3S features the same help screens as all current high-end Nikon DSLRs, and when a ? symbol is displayed next to a menu option, pressing and holding the corresponding button on the rear of the camera brings up a text explanation of the function. Not all settings have corresponding help text, but most of those that don't are reasonably self-explanatory.
