There are 50 images in the samples gallery. Please do not reproduce any of these images on a website or any newsletter / magazine without prior permission. I make the originals available for private users to download to their own machines for personal examination or printing (in conjunction with this review), I do so in good faith, please don't abuse it.
Unless otherwise noted images taken with no particular settings, Matrix Metering and 2048 x 1536 resolution. Images reduced down to 1024 x 768 to fit onto your screen, some images have been level corrected (I'm a strong believer in the Digital Darkroom) as always the original untouched image is available by clicking on this reduced image.
I've not mentioned the Digital Darkroom for some time but I felt the need to clarify the methods I use to produce the monitor size image (1024 x 768 in this case) for the samples galleries. I always run my images through my "Digital Darkroom", that's simply deciding if the image needs cropping, level correction or sharpening and simply applying that, I do this for all the samples galleries. The key to a good digital camera is how much and how often you need to do it. For the 990 I seldom altered any image other than half sizing it and pasting my copyright watermark.
Remember this never affects the untouched originals which are always available by clicking on the half sized image.
In this example (a shot that's available in the samples gallery I've simply darkened the image, you can see the original though perfectly exposed doesn't have the same impact as the slightly darkened image.
