Auto Menu

The only menu options available in Auto exposure mode are Set-Up and User setting. Selecting the User setting option allows you to change to Scene or one of the Custom modes.

Scene Menu

Pressing the MENU button with the Scene user setting selected displays the scene mode selection menu. Each scene mode is represented by an icon, use the multi selector to select the required scene mode then press the SET button to select that mode. A shortcut to selecting Scene mode is to hold the FUNC button and turn the command dial. The current scene mode is indicated by SCE1 - SCEc on the Control Panel display.

Each scene mode is described below.

Scene modes

Scene exposure mode offers the same number of menu options (camera control) as Auto, that is: Image Quality, Image Size and Exposure Compensation. Other notes are:

  • White balance is set to AUTO or a pre-programmed preset
  • Flash mode can be changed (depends on scene mode, see table below)
  • Some scene modes use an image adjustment (S-curve / tone) to enhance the image
  • AF assist lamp is enabled in all modes
