Battery Compartment
 |
As with the DC265 the battery compartment on the DC290 is in the
handgrip covered by a double door, opening the outer door reveals
a sliding holder which retains the batteries. Kodak sensibly supply
the camera with a set of NiMH chargeable AA batteries and charger
along with power socket adapters for just about every type of power
socket worldwide.
|

CompactFlash Compartment
 |
The DC290 CompactFlash compartment is beside the battery compartment
in the handgrip, unfortunately Kodak haven't yet implemented a Type
II slot (slightly thicker) which means you can't use the higher
capacity CF Type II cards. Beneath the ejector lever is a warning
light which flashed whilst the camera is writing data to the CF
card.

Connectivity
 |
On the side we have connectivity for power (7V-8V DC), a multiple
I/O port (USB, RS232), the AV output (audio & video, PAL/NTSC software
switchable) and flash synch port for connection to flash equipment.
Additional to this the camera also features an IrDA infrared port
on the front of the camera which can be used for transfer of images
between camera and computer or camera to camera.
