At ISO 400 the difference in noise levels is even more obvious, with the HP R707 clearly outperforming the Digimax, though here it is possible to see the slight softening of detail caused by the heavy noise reduction. The difference in sharpness is exacerbated by the Samsung's slightly better resolving power and stronger default sharpening. If you look at the batteries and you can see how well the R707 is doing when it comes to preserving detail and sharpness right at the edge of the frame.
