Record menu

Pressing the MENU button while in one of the manual record modes (P, S, A, M) displays the record menu over the live preview image. In the captures below a black background was used for clarity (normally you'd see the live view 'behind' the menus).

External Flash

Enables or disables the use of the flash hot-shoe:

On
Off

The external flash an internal flash cannot be used at the same time. Sync times are up to 1/1000 sec with external flash. Compatible flash units require: the aperture can be set, external flash sync can be used, sensitivity (ISO) can be set.

Multiple Exposure

Allows you to shoot multiple exposures over the same frame (very odd) :

Off

Sharpness

Allows you to control the cameras internal sharpening algorithm (applied to the image before it's saved):

Hard
Normal (default)
Soft

Auto Bracketing

Auto Bracketing allows you to automatically take three frames at different exposure compensations:

+/- 1 EV
+/- 2/3 EV
+/- 1/3 EV

You have to select bracketing mode by pressing the drive button twice, once enabled the camera will shoot all three frames with one press of the shutter release.

Flash Power compensation

Set flash power compensation:

+0.6 EV
+0.3 EV
0 EV
-0.3 EV
-0.6 EV

White Balance

Select white balance setting:

Auto
Manual preset 1
Manual preset 2
Fine
Shade
Fluorescent: Daylight bulb
Fluorescent: Warm White bulb
Fluorescent: Cool White bulb
Incandescent

Photometry (Metering mode)

Selects metering mode:

Average (Center-weighted)
Spot
Multi (Segmented)

ISO Sensitivity

Selects camera sensitivity equiv.:

ISO 100 (default)
ISO 200
ISO 400


Setup menu

Switching to the SET option on the mode dial (and in record mode) will display the setup menu, this allows you to change various other camera settings such as power save timeout, image display and file size / quality.
