You would not want to make poster sized prints from neither of the two cameras' ISO 1600 output but the Fuji's results are certainly more usable than the Canon's. On the SD850 every last bit of fine detail has been smeared away and some very nasty blotchy noise reduction artifacts are taking over. On the other hand, while the F50fd is not exactly clean it preserves considerably more detail (and color accuracy) for this type of camera.
