Below you will find a studio comparison between the Canon SD1100 IS and the Panasonic FS3 at ISO 800.

Same scenario as on the previous page. The Canon retains marginally more detail but is visibly noisier than the Panasonic at ISO 800, but really there's so little in it that it's almost a moot point. Whichever option you prefer, shooting with a compact camera at high sensitivities is always going to be a compromise. You'll have to choose between noise-free/blurry and detailed/noisy images, you cannot have both.
