
Top of camera controls
 |
On top of the camera all controls are located on the right side
either beside or on top of the hand grip. Here you'll find the shutter
release button, three function buttons and the drive mode selection
button.
All described in more detail below:

Record Mode
 |
Toggle LCD / EVF

With the LCD fully reversed and clipped into the rear of the camera
you can press this button to switch between the LCD and the Electronic
Viewfinder display. |

Spot Metering

Enables / Disables spot metering. Only available in P, Tv, Av and
M exposure modes. When spot metering is enabled the camera meters
only from a small rectangle in the center of the frame, this rectangle
is shown on the rear LCD (if enabled). Spot metering status is displayed
on the top LCD and rear LCD (if enabled). |

Drive Mode

Allows selection of drive mode: Single Shot, Continuous Shooting and
Self-Timer / Infrared Remote control. |
Play Mode

Toggle Thumbnail view

Toggles between display of full screen image or 3 x 3 thumbnails on
the LCD screen. |

Playback Zoom

Zoom the displayed image either 2.5 or 5.0 times, the 4-way controller
can be used to scroll smoothly around the zoomed image. |

Jump

Jump through playback images by 10 frames forward or backward. |

Rear of camera controls

On the back of the Pro90 you'll find the flip-out LCD,
beside this are a variety of other buttons. Each of the buttons is described
in more detail below:
Record Mode

Auto Exposure Lock
(AE-L)

Takes an exposure reading and locks it for the next shot. Only available
in P, Tv and Av exposure modes. If you have the flash enabled the
camera will fire the flash and take a meter reading against the flash
output, lock it and use it for the next shot. Once the shot is taken
metering is reset. |

Multifunction Button

This button scrolls between four different camera settings:

Exposure compensation:
+/-2 EV in 0.3 EV steps |

White balance: Auto,
Sunny, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Flash, Manual Preset |

Bracketing: 3 frames:
0/+/- 0.3, 0.7, 1.0, 1.3, 1.7 or 2.0 EV |
 |
Flash output compensation:
+/-2 EV in 0.3 EV steps |
Use the left / right arrows to select different values. |

Mode

Toggles between two display modes: Image only display or Image
and camera settings display. |

Setting / Menu confirm

Used to confirm changed camera settings or options in the camera
menus.
The Pro90 has the same "delete before saving" shortcut
seen on other Powershot cameras, if you're looking at an image review,
press SET then * to call up the delete yes/no dialog.
