Compared to...Studio scene comparison (RAW)See previous page for RAW conversion notes. This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F). Camera settings as per previous pages. Canon EOS 7D vs. Pentax K7
Using our benchmark RAW converter, Adobe Camera RAW, tries to equalize image processing between the two cameras and allows us to get a better idea of the level of detail actually captured. As you can see both cameras images look crisper and exhibit better detail, but the Pentax K-7 gains just a tad more more in relative terms. Nevertheless both cameras show impressive detail and, due to its higher nominal resolution, the Canon still resolves marginally more. |
