Top of camera controls

Top of the camera is the power switch (normal Sony style slide for on, slide for off), the main mode dial which is used to switch immediately between Play (review images), Still (take still image shots) and Movie (record short video clips) modes. Just in front of this is the shutter release button, with a good feel between the half and full press.

 


Rear of camera controls

On the rear of the P1 surrounding the LCD are the first set of controls, detailed below.

Toggle between:

• Normal Auto Focus (50 cm - Infinity)
• Macro Auto Focus (10 cm - Infinity)

Flash

Select flash mode:

• Auto
• Anti Redeye
• Flash Fill
• Flash Cancel
PROGRAM AE

Program AE

Select AE mode, icon representing current mode is displayed on LCD:

• Auto
• Twilight Mode
• Twilight+ Mode (exposures less than 1/30s)
• Landscape Mode
• Portrait Mode

VOLUME
+ / -		 Volume

• Movie mode: Controls volume
LCD ON/OFF LCD Power

Toggle LCD display on or off (neatly placed under your thumb if you carry the camera in the palm of your hand).
DISPLAY Display

Toggles status information overlay on LCD preview

Zoom

Controls Zoom level linearly from full wide to full zoom.

4-way controller

• Record & Play: Up/Down - bring up/navigate menu system
• Record only: Left/Right - (Still: quick review / leave quick review)
• Play only: navigate through taken images
