As you turn the shooting mode dial the camera repeats the selected mode on the LCD monitor (as shown in the animation above). Note that it also indicates the flash mode, drive mode, AF mode and white balance setting. This can be disabled with the 'Guide display' option of the setup menu.
Press the Function (Fn) button to display the four-way function menu. Press the four way controller in the indicated direction to change a setting; White balance, Drive mode, Sensitivity or Flash mode.
Menus
The camera's menus are split into four sections; Record, Playback, Setup and Custom Functions. Each of these sections is represented by a 'Tab' at the top of the menu page.
One slight disappointment is that Pentax haven't addressed the limited number of characters across the screen leaving them no option but to resort to humorous acronyms like 'Plybk dsply mthd'.
