In this comparison the DSC-R1 has a 10% vertical resolution advantage. It's fair to say there are plenty of examples throughout the image where this can be seen, however it's not a big difference and you would struggle to it even in a large print. Tonal response was very similar, color hues were different for blues and greens (with the Sony providing a richer more 'appealing' rendition).
