This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F). Camera settings as per previous pages.

Once again the differences here are subtle, though again the fact that you get little in the way of extra detail / sharpness from the E-3 raw files means that the D300 pulls ahead in this respect, offering a much crisper pixel-level result. Interestingly the default settings used here cause the D300's highlights to clip far more harshly than we saw in the JPEGs (though it's still better than the E-3).
