Menus (contd.)

The cameras custom settings are split into six alphabetical color coded categories, this makes it easier to remember a specific option and quicker to enter the custom settings menu at the correct position. You can still scroll through all custom settings options as one big menu if you wish. Note that on this menu an asterisk (*) next to a custom setting means that it has been changed to something other than the camera default. A green superscript one (¹) indicates the default setting.

When you hit the first page of the custom function menu, you see an overview of the categories so that you can jump quickly to the correct section. A range of settings, including the custom settings, can also be saved in one of the two available 'U' modes. This is particularly useful if more than one person uses the camera or you shoot several wildly different subjects (landscapes and motorsport).

As an upgrade to the D80 , the D7000 is a definite improvement , but build quality is still lacking , next to say, the D300S .

That being sad , the camera handles well ,even if the video function is still an option I scorn .

The main problem I have, is the slow flash sync speed with my SB 600 flashgun - a pathetic 1/60 sec .To utilise the full potential of the D7000 , I need to upgrade my flash gun - not easy when finances are tight .

You never tell us what ISO settings you shoot at in low light mode so how is that helpful ?
