Studio scene comparison (vs. Canon EOS 300D)

This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position within minutes of each other. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F). Camera settings:

• Nikon D50: Nikkor 50 mm F1.8, Aperture Priority (F9),
  ISO 200, JPEG Large/Fine, Manual WB, Default Parameters, Self-Timer
   
• Canon EOS 300D: Canon EF 50 mm F1.4, Aperture Priority (F9),
  ISO 100, JPEG Large/Fine, Manual WB, Default Parameters, Self-Timer

The EOS 300D (Digital Rebel) does carry a slight resolution advantage, however it exhibits more detail than this difference would suggest. The 300D image looks sharper and has better contrast, color balance is pretty much the same between the two. Noise isn't visible in either image. It's interesting to note the difference in sensitivity, the D50 shot taken at ISO 200, the EOS 300D shot taken at ISO 100 (although it does appear slightly darker) and the same exposure.
