Menus

	The D2X's menus have been modified slightly since the D2H, instead of just four main menu categories there's a fifth labeled 'Recent Settings'. This menu allows you to recall settings changes made recently without having to navigate through the menu system. The Custom Settings menu is additionally divided into six color coded categories.

Shooting / CSM menu banks

When working in the Shooting or CSM menus you are in actual fact changing the settings of a 'menu bank'. There are four banks for each of the Shooting and CSM menus; A to D, each bank can be given a more meaningful label and the currently selected bank letter is indicated on the rear control panel for quick reference. This is very useful for quickly switching between a type of shot or situation.

Help pages

Also new to the D2X are help pages, these are available throughout the camera's menu system, as indicated by the circular question mark (?) icon shown at the top right of the display. Press and hold the protect button to display a context sensitive help page. The example on the left is the help page for the shooting menu bank option, the example on the right is the help page for custom function a1 (AF-C priority selection), you can see that the page can be scrolled using the direction controller.
