JPEG/TIFF Image Size & Quality
The QV-4000 provides five image size options; 2240 x 1680,
2256 x 1504 (3:2 picture ratio), 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960 and 640 x 480
which can be used in combination with three JPEG quality settings or uncompressed
TIFF.

Standard Test Scene |
To give an impression of what some of the combinations
of image size and quality produce the table below is a cross reference
of some of them:
- 2240 x 1680 TIFF
- 2240 x 1680 Fine
- 2240 x 1680 Normal
- 2240 x 1680 Economy
- 1600 x 1200 Fine
- 1280 x 960 Fine
- 640 x 480 Fine
Images below are cropped 240 x 100 area of the image magnified
200% (nearest neighbour).
Very little difference between Fine JPEG and TIFF means
that for most people the 1.5 MB Fine JPEG will provide 'almost TIFF quality'
for those especially important shots. After this Normal JPEG provides
a relatively clean and artifact free general shooting quality. I was a
little disappointed with the unsophisticated downsampling at 640 x 480
(it looks like nearest neighbour).
