By the time you reach ISO 400 noise is becoming visible (at 100% view, anyway), but the effects of noise reduction are not impinging on the detail too much. Produced as 6x9" prints, these the results would still be acceptable to most people. Again, the sharper lens in our SD 870 IS accounts for more of the differences between the two images than the effects of noise or noise reduction, underlining that neither factor is a major problem at ISO 400.
