This is our standard studio scene comparison shot taken from exactly the same tripod position. Lighting: daylight simulation, >98% CRI. Crops are 100%. Ambient temperature was approximately 22°C (~72°F). Camera settings as per previous pages.

Canon EOS 450D/Rebel XSi (RAW) vs. Sony Alpha 350 (RAW)

The Alpha 350 benefits far less from the switch to RAW than the EOS, and it's hard to see any advantage being gained by the extra two megapixels (in fact the EOS 450D has considerably better per pixel sharpness). As is often the case, the differences are very much 'at the margins' and will only really matter if you're producing very big prints or cropping excessively.
