It's a rather different story at ISO 400, where noise (and the effects of noise reduction) have removed rather too much fine detail than we'd like from the A520 image - though the Panasonic's noise reduction is so strong the image looks like a watercolor painting, albeit one with a little more detail. As ever with small sensor cameras, the top ISO setting is to be used only when the light is so low you wouldn't be able to get the shot any other way.
