Hey guys.So far I've invested in used a-mount equipment, for example an a900 and a few lenses (Sony 35 f1.4 - Minolta 135 f2.8 - Sigma 50 1.4 - Minolta 70-210 f4 and a few more old lenses). I'm not happy with the limited abilities (DR, ISO, focus point, ...) of the a900 and planning to upgrade. However, there is only the a99 and the clumsy adapter solution for e-mount. I tested both but found both not convincing.I was wondering, where have all the former a-mounters gone. What's the best...
My wife has been asking me to purchase a macro lens for her. We do wedding photography and some newborn photography. She prefers the look of a macro lens over cropping for some close up shots. I'm thinking primarily the lens would be used for ring shots and such. We have a Nikon 35-70/2.8, but that lens is very soft wide open. We also have extension tubes and reversing rings, however she does not like those and I would rather carry an extra lens than a bunch tubes. Anyway, macro lenses...
Sorry, I know you hate this question but I have a slight dilemma. Until pretty much now I've been using an inherited Konica Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 7D and while it was an extremely good camera when it came out, it's very old compared to current standards, so I need a replacement. I only have Minolta AF lenses. The good/decent ones are the following: - Minolta 50 mm f/1.7 - Sigma 12-24mm EX DG f/4.5-5.6 - Minolta 70-210 f/4 Beercan And a few rubbish ones like the Minolta 28-80mm, a Sigma 70-300mm...
I recently got a job selling Sony cameras, and am really just looking for stories or opinions on what each camera is really good at, and what people use the for. I know them all spec-wise front to back, but that doesn't necessarily translate to real-world performance. I think that comparing the Mirrorless (A7's, a6300 etc.) cameras to the DSLTs (A77II, A99 Etc.) would also be super helpful. If you use any of the camcorders or other cameras like the HX90V for example, i would love to hear...
Hello Friends, I just sold my lovely A77, now i want to upgrade my camera but still got limited budget, I know E-mouth are on the rage now a days but I am still in love with A-mount and always wants use one 35mm for me, A99 is best least and one option for me, I search it around and get a deal in around $1150 used but like new. How much its worth to buy A99 now? Is it has still a smart buy? Do i wait or go for A77 II or what options i have? I am very keen for A99, give me some good...

i feel like this has just started to happen recently and maybe im unaware of a setting i might have changed but let me described the scenario. Let me start off by first saying i know what the Live View Display setting is. When it is set to "setting effect off" it will display a properly exposed picture feed akin to optical viewfinders (and even amply pictures in the dark" I have this setting set to "Setting effect on" that way it shows exactly the exposure i will get if i snap a picture. if i...
Hello I was out yesterday in bright sunlight with my new a7R II - when pushing the release button half-way thru to focus I'm getting some flickering on the viewfinder screen - is this a normal behavior with this camera - didn't notice this behavior before on the A77 or A99? Hope somebody can shed some light. Thanks
