I'm going to a studio workshop tonight and I don't have much details about their setup, but it's safe to assume it's probably setup with an canon/nikon audience in mind.  In that case, is there anything I need to prepare or get before hand? I have only been using my Sony flashes with my own wireless triggers. I don't have much experience about studio strobes. I'm going to assume they will setup some pocketwizards? If so, I guess it'll work with the A99 shoe?  If not, worst case, I should be...

I went into two different name camera stores ... Neither one cares the Sony A99..  The largest store in Ontario having several location do NOT carry A99  .. however will order it for a customer ..  ( They do have a77 mark 2 in their  stores .)  Would it be there's  a SONY A99 Mark 2 coming out this fall . OR is it the A99  a camera no one tends to want so no point stocking it in a store... I tried the Sony A77 Mark 2 out ..but I prefer full frame for less noise I am NEW to Sony cameras Tom

I want a cheap-o walk-around 35mm prime while saving up for the Sigma 35mm 1.4. The only one I can find that's in the sub $400 price range is the Sony 35mm. I really want auto-focus so the Rokinon is out. I realize that it's designed for APS-C sized sensors so will function in crop mode on the a99. But what exactly does this mean? Will I be merely sacrificing megapixels? Will the IQ suffer? Will there be vignetting/distortion on the edges? I do plan on also purchasing a Tamron 28-75mm. Will...

Hi, I have now Sony A65, A37 and NEX6 cameras. And for my macro works (mostly usual stuff: flowers, insects with beautiful bokeh) I use my old manual macro lenses: Vivitar 55/2.8 and Vivitar Series1 90/2.5 lenses. Anyway, now I want more modern AF macro lens, used one, for relatively cheap price...I'm going to use it mostly with my A65 and and perhaps later with FF Sony A99. I've been watching used lens market, and found for example Sigma 105/2.8 DG EX macro for 290$ and older Minolta AF...

Hi friends, i am using Sony A57 from around a year and so, as it is very good camera, it working great for me but one of my friends wants to buy it. I do't want to add any extra money so A77 II is not in my list, I don't like A65 and A99 is out of my budget so thinking to get an A77, what would be your suggestions? is it good to go for A77 or better stick on A57. few things of A77 attracting me like the mid size SLR, weather sealed and Shutter upto 8000 suggestion require before i go for it....

Hi I'm looking at jumping on the fullframe Nex wagon. I'm an amateur who shoots a little of everything (not concerts/bar scenes). I find video to cumbersome so I only use that a family events. My wife just got a horse so that might get higher up the priority list. (indoor low light). I currently have A99/RX1/Nex7 and a lot of high quality lenses (Zeiss and G) as well as 50/58/85mm F1.2 manuel lenses.  I'm trying to choose between A7R and A7S (have good deals, so A7S is $300 more that A7R)....

Wanted to check if I've completely missed this somehow like a dummy: On RX1 we have "MF Assist" option, which, when turned "On" instantly zooms in to 5.9x as soon as you turn the focus ring. No buttons need to be pressed, it just magnifies the focus and gives you the focus peaking if you have that turned on as well. I love it and almost never shoot with RX1 on anything by MF. On A99 and A77's we have the "Focus Magnifier" option that can be custom assigned to a button to perform a similar...

How is the performance and usability of Eye-AF, i.e. the function to AF on the (I believe) closer eye after pressing an custom button assigned with Eye-AF, utilizing face and eye detection, on the A77II? Has anyone tried already? Any special differences to A7(r) and the Olympus cameras? (Other than the fact that the Olympus cameras don't require you to press a button, and let you select closest/left/right eye?) I use it on the A7, where I found it to be precise but not fast. If you are used...
