Actually i have the Tamron 17-50, and it works beautifuly, it's almost all the time on my A77. But in my country, the Sony 16-50 is selling for $500 new, and i can sell my tamron in $380; so for only $120 i can "Upgrade" to the Sony. I like the weather sealing and SSM of the Sony, also the 16mm vs 17mm it's welcome, because i use my tamron mostly for astro, landscapes and social photos (Here are my photos with the Tamron https://www.flickr.com/photos/biovipah/sets/72157642161320685/ )Do you...

Looking for opinions, I have been shooting with the a65 for 2 and 1/2 years (96,000) clicks. I mostly shoot birds and have been using a minolta 100-400 lens. I love the a65 and have learned how to get the most out of the minolta 100-400. As a side note comparing the sony 55-200 to the minolta 100-400 at 200mm the minolta is much better. I realize this is comparing the long end of a lens to the middle range of the other lens but the Minolta just shines compared to the sony. Anyway I have the...

I have a couple of scratches/lines on my A77 sensor from me being stupid while cleaning.  I found the replacement part on sears direct and it costs over $600.  I bought the camera used from B&H for about $600.   I'm beyond the B&H used equipment return window and I obviously don't have a Sony warranty.   I assume sending it to Sony will just cost me the full price of the sensor. Maybe I'll just sell it on ebay and try to recovery some of the money.   Any suggestions?  Should I just learn how...

I went into two different name camera stores ... Neither one cares the Sony A99..  The largest store in Ontario having several location do NOT carry A99  .. however will order it for a customer ..  ( They do have a77 mark 2 in their  stores .)  Would it be there's  a SONY A99 Mark 2 coming out this fall . OR is it the A99  a camera no one tends to want so no point stocking it in a store... I tried the Sony A77 Mark 2 out ..but I prefer full frame for less noise I am NEW to Sony cameras Tom

Hi guys, I have just bought a mk2 A77 and  love it.  It is just a great camera.  I was just wondering now many of you like it for photos  at ISO 1600 and 3200?  I am am not a  pixel peeper, but in low light, I thought it would be better.   I am using it with the 16-50 sony, and don't know if that is the problem if I shoot at 2.8f.  It sometimes looks like it is out of focus when I zoom in. scott

I imagine this question has been addresses before but why is the superfast frame rate restricted to Cont. Priority AE?  I thought the technology would be easily built  into M as well.  I purchased the camera (and had a waterhousing built for it) purely for the advertised 12 fps. I only use the camera in the water with a fisheye lens (Sigma 10mm f 2.8)  to get these kind of images. The surfer moves across the frame very quickly so even at 12fps each frame is very different. I only shoot on...

I am seriously thinking to buy the SONY A77 M2  LOVE THE CAMERA.. makes on a better photographer I feel..  I tested  THE SONY A77 M2 out at the store  ISO 1600 was use and the results were pretty darn  good viewing at 100 percent I was using the 16-50 f2.8 lens ...nice but I wished it was longer ...like my 24-120 f4 lens stays on my Nikon D800 all the time.. My QUESTION before I decided to buy the exciting  NEW Sony A77-M2  Is there a lens will give me something similar to my 24-120 f4 on...

Hi, Have anybody tried the A77ii on mostly white birds? I'm thinking about seagulls, terms,  and puffins mostly head on. I'm considering an A77ii for BIF if it is stronger on white birds than my 1D4 (testing not finished yet). I suspect that my issue might be that phase detection is not good on white and that I could get a better result with contrast detection AF. Then there might be an issue with me using an  EF400mm F/5.6. Going with a EF300 F/2.8 might fix the issue.
