I am a new convert to the M43 and Olympus cameras. So far I'm pretty satisfied with the change from the bulky Sony A77, but there is one thing I'm having a hard time adjusting too. With my A77 I mostly used AWB with good success. The image I saw om my EVF was generally pretty close to the image that My eye saw. If it wasn't I could easily correct in LR with the Raw files. On my EM10, I experience something totally strange to me. When set to AWB, it seems the image in the EVF changes as I hold...

I have a Sony A77 (not the A77II) with the Sony vertical grip. Up until a few weeks ago, the battery life indicator would give the battery percentage for the battery being used, and it would also show the charge level for the second battery in the vertical grip. Now, however, it never shows the actual battery charge percentage left. There is only a picture in the display of one battery and it shows the charge level, but not the percentage. I have switched positions of the batteries and tried...

Hi, Currently I have a NEX5n and a NEX6 that I've had since my A77 and NEX3 were stolen. I definitely enjoy their portability (2 camera+lenses in a slingshot). Having become a bit disillusioned with phase AF in the past (for fast primes) fast legacy/new manual glass has seen a lot of use lately. For outdoor in daylight sport / people / movement I've been using the 55-210 with mixed but OKish AF results and for non-quick animals outdoors in daylight the Minolta  MF 300 4,5. Have an LA-EA2 and...

Does anyone know of any rumours etc... regarding a QX2 or FW upgrade which might include full manual control (perhaps at the expense of auto ISO or something) ?As I already have E-mounts, I am about to splash on a QX1, to hook up with my Sony Z2 phone, as I think it could be great for a 6 band gig I am recordiing on Saturday. It will also go great on my drone :)Does anyone have any experience with this system? Advice? Other comments? Also, I recently smashed up my a65, so getting a...

This forum has always been a great resource since purchasing my a77ii. I recently encountered a video issue while shooting a concert. I discovered that, due to its 2 GB file size limit, my camera had stopped/started recording twice during a recent video shoot, resulting in brief pauses in the video. Menu settings were Movie, set to Program Auto; AVCHD; 24p 17M(FH), ISO 2200. I can't believe Sony would make such a great camera and impose restrictions on movies that only allow me to shoot 17...

I downloaded the latest version of the Sony IDC raw converter I could find, version 4.2.03.16101. In the list of supported cameras is included the A77-II. When I load RAW files from my A77-II, they look really bad, much worse that the JPG straight from the camera. I suspect something is wrong here with the IDC. What version do I need for proper RAW support of A77-II RAW files?

I've recently noticed that my A77 defaults to manual focus when first turned on. It happens with a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 lens and Minolta beercan. But with a Sony 35mm it defaults to whatever is set with the AF/MF switch on the lens. I've noticed that when turning it off with the Minolta or Tamron attached, for a split second I can see the focus peaking dots before the EVF goes black so apparently the switch happens upon shutting down the camera. About a week ago I dropped the camera on the rear...

Why would I want to use it What can it be viewed with? Is it worth the cost the the larger faster memory? Hi I'm thinking seriously about getting the A77II One of the few features I wish it had, but hasn't is a pivoting EVF: I find the pivoting EVF on my NEX-5 very useful when the camera is on a monopod Does anybody know if the FDA-EV1MK EVF which is really meant for RX1 (and supposedly also works on the RX100II) will also work on the A77II to give a 'pivoting EVF' feature on that camera? Many thanks for any answers!
