Will the spare battery on my A55 be any use in the 77ii?  Or should I give it to the person who will be receiving the old camera?  Sony website suggests it might be the same, but only goes back as far as the A57 in listing compatible products. --Paypal? Just say "No!"

So I got a hotshoe adapter for my A55. I am under the impression that I can now use pretty much any speedlight. My question is, do I lose any functionality of the speedlight? I was thinking of the Yongnuo YN-565. Will I still be able to leverage the E-TTL and everything else? Thanks,Derek

Having come from a 50D, I'm curious about the naming prefix on my 7D II.50D files were IMG_ prefixed, my 7D II prefixes them as 0F9A.Anyone know the expalnation of this convention.Thought it may be Hex for part of the serial number, but doesn't look likes that's the case. --PhilCanon 50D, A550, T-90, T-70, A-1Kodak DX4900, P850

Is this a setting many would prefer to have turned off.Seems as if it overrides manually set exposure & flash compensations.I now realise why -2/3 Compensation made little difference in some early shots.   --PhilCanon 50D, A550, T-90, T-70, A-1Kodak DX4900, P850

I like to take outdoor photos (birds & other wildlife, landscape, and macros) and have a good selection of   Minolta Maxxum lenses that work well with my A55.  I would like to upgrade to a camera with higher ISO capabilities to increase exposure choices for the slow (f stop) lenses. Since I like to hike with a camera (and am 77) , I would like one (with an evf) that is a least as small as the A55 that will autofocus with the Maxxum lenses. Any recommendations? Thanks, Rick

I currently own an a55, so the question is more about if I should bother upgrading or not. I'm currently stationed in Germany and really only use my camera when travelling, which has slowed down a bit the past few months, but I want to starting seeing more places. My A55 has been great, but it's not that great in low light situations and with winter coming, there will be a lot of low light situatiosn even while outdoors. But most of my pictures are of landscapes, building, scenery,...

Ok - I'm biting the bullet for feeling stupid but I'm just going to ask anyway. Feel free to howl me down. I have an a55. After a lot of research I decided on, and purchased a Metz 52AF-1 flash for Sony. Wanted something to act both one camera and wirelessly and be a master flash. As I understood it, the 52AF still had the mount for the proprietary Sony hot shoe not on of the new ones that go on the a99 for example. Despite having the hugest manual ever, I can't work out for the life of me...

I have had my A55 for about two years and really like it for my first SLR.  Today after a class on photography with SLR camera I was playing around with the settings on the camera.  The one in particular was the different types of displays during picture playback.  I had taken a couple of pictures in the Program mode and was reviewing them and what I noticed was in several of the pictures that contained overexposed areas in the shot when I had the histogram display up the areas that where...
