I have a nexc3 with the kit lens and the sel5018 and was looking forward to the a6000 for its fast focus speed. But some of the things people are talking about here have me unsure. But I don't even understand the points people are making: Some people are saying that the lenses for nex cameras will not be able to resolve the amount of detail due to the megapixels in the a6000. And I think if I understand correctly the NEX-7 also had this problem? I don't even understand what this means and how...

Hey guys, Looking for your recommendations for an upgrade to an entry- or mid-level dSLR / mirrorless that I'll mostly be using for the following: Shooting pictures of the family (I have young, but growing kids, so I'd have the camera at family dinners/reunions, sports events and musical performances) Motorcycling trips.  I've been known to go out in groups, ride ahead of the group a few minutes, and take shots of them as they come by me on the road.  I use a GoPro (Hero 3 Black) to capture...

Just curious how you wear your cameras. I have a NEX-7 with Zeiss 24mm and it's kind of front-heavy. If I wear it with the strap across my chest having the camera at my side "up-side-down/top against body" it stays snug to my side/back but is far from ready to shoot with. When I had the Fuji X100 I didn't have to mess around as it was hanging across my chest. I just had to lift it to my eye and shoot. Likewise when having the NEX-C3, the strap and strap lugs made the camera hang really...

Hi, I know, there have been numerous threads about A7 already, but hey they are the hot topic still today and this is a Sony gear forum so we cannot really cry about it either... I currently own A55 with couple of lenses but most importantly the DT16-50/f2.8. Then also a NEX-C3 with kit lens as well as a few MF Rokkors. I love both combos. I love the versatility of the A55 with the zoom lens for landscape, city sightseeing, indoor photography, etc. I also love the fast manual primes with the...

Basically what the title says. I want to know if I can use my old AI-S lenses (for example, the 24 mm F2.8 or 105 F2.5) on the A7/7r. I currently have a NEX-C3 and have been using the lenses with an e-mount adapter. Can I use the same adapters with the A7? Will there be significant vignetting?

I own a Nex C3. I've just recently purchased a Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN Art lens. Everytime i turn on my camera or camera waking up from sleep or changing from play mode to shooting mode; the lens seems to be disconnected from my camera. The lens seems a bit noisy and the aperture display simply show F--. Then I cannot change the aperture at all. I think in normal operation, the rattling sound in the lens will stop when it is turned on. But for this condition, i can hear the rattling sound in the...

I've had a Sony NEX-C3 since March, in fact I just sold my Nikon D5100 DSLR I had been owning for the past 18 months because anymore I "just" use the NEX-C3 all the time anyway. I do landscapes a lot and MUST have a bubble/spirit level, because it seems that without one my landscapes are just CROOKED as all get-out. Well prior to getting it (I used to have the Olympus E-PL1, E-PM1 and Panasonic GF3) I had found a particular tripod-mounted bubble/spirit level. It cost like $5 at B&H and was...

Hi, everyone. A couple of years ago, I purchased an NEX-C3 with the 18-55 kit lens. My purchase of this camera probably tells you all you need to know about my level of proficiency with digital photography - I was looking to step up from point-and-shoot compacts, something to help give all my family and vacation photos a bit of an extra touch of "professionalism". I'm now finding that there are many situations where the 55 zoom simply isn't enough (e.g., a school play where I can't get up...

I'm considering getting the 16-50 lens for my C3.  I'm aware of the distortion/vignetting problems which I am not too concerned about, because I always shoot raw and correct in Lightroom anyway.    My main concerns are if there are any other compatibility issues that I should be aware of.  I have seen people complain about time delays between switching the camera off and the lens retracting on some older NEX models.  I've also seen reports that the lens auto-retracts if you press image...

Next week my friends' band has concert in some club. Which of the lenses will be the best for this event. I am not sure about the club itself but I can assume it is not so big and probably quite dark. My current lenses are:a) 18-55 kit (F3.5-5.6)b) 55-210 (F4.5-6.3)c) 16 F2.8 pancaked) Sigma 30 F2.8 I have two NEX'es my 5N and C3 of my wife. As I am not comfortable to change lanses on such event so I want to choose 2 lenses one for each of camera.I think that definitly I will take 55-210 as...
